Nothing could be more romantic than a honeymoon on board a paddle steamer cruising down the Nile to visit the Great Pyramids and ancient temples. Unfortunately for the young couple Kay and Simon, they find they have been followed by Simon’s former fiancée Jacqueline, angry because her friend stole her fiancé and determined to make trouble for them. Tensions rise and when a murder occurs there are plenty of suspects aboard, including a disgruntled doctor, a frightened maid, a bullying old lady and her downtrodden niece and a mysterious young man. By the time the boat reaches its destination Kay’s guardian Canon Pennefather, who is also aboard, has solved the crime.
Another intriguing Agatha Christie murder-mystery, following on the success of Theatre West Van’s recent productions of And Then There Were None and The Mousetrap.
