Theatre West Van is proud to present three episodes from the iconic British comedy series, Fawlty Towers, set in a dysfunctional Torquay hotel, presided over by the one and only Basil Fawlty. Driven, devious, manic and venal, Fawlty is capable of every emotion from sneering sarcasm to oily obsequiousness. And, like a deer in the headlights, he is always trying to keep one step ahead of disaster. Fawlty is ably assisted by his long-suffering wife Sybil, Polly the street-smart chamber-maid, and Manuel, a madcap waiter from Barcelona, who boasts a less-than passing acquaintance with the English language. Throw in a dotty major, two old ladies and a variety of annoying guests, and it's a recipe for a generous portion of crack-pot comedy. The episodes are: The Hotel Inspectors, Communication Problems and Waldorf Salad.
