Description of Play

Carla Crane believes her mother, who died in prison, was wrongly convicted of murder. In an attempt to clear her name, Carla persuades those present on the day to return to the scene of the crime and recount their version of events. The drama slips from past to present, and after sifting through the various inconsistencies between each suspect's testimony, the truth is finally revealed.

Cast requirements

Justin Fogg The lawyer trying to help Carla find peace. Clever, smooth about 30.
Turnball Justin Fogg's assistant. Elderly
Carla Daughter of Caroline seeking the truth. Determined to find the truth. Some deep buried anger. About 20. Will be aged to about 45.
Jeff Rogers Carla's husband to be. Age about 30. Stereotype American.
Philip Blake The victim's best friend, now a stockbroker. A little resentful of Carla's investigation. About 45 but will be aged back to about 20.
Meredith Blake Philip's younger brother, a recluse and former amateur herbalist. In love with Caroline at one time. About 45 but will be aged back to about 20.
Miss Williams Angela's former governess, now retired. No nonsense, abrupt type. About 60 but will be aged back to about 40.
Angela Warren Caroline's younger sister, now an archaeologist. About 35 but will be aged back to about 16.
Caroline Crale Wife of the victim.
Amyas Crale The victim, an artist, murdered fifteen years ago. A womanizer, somewhat cruel. About 45.
Lady Melksham A society lady, formerly Elsa Greer, the victim's mistress. Married three times. About 45 but will be aged back to about 20.
